Counselling and Psychotherapy in The City of London

Thinking about starting counselling or psychotherapy?

If you are at a point in your life where you are considering starting counselling or psychotherapy you may be finding it a daunting task choosing a therapist. Over these pages I aim to answer some of the questions you may have and also to explain types of counselling and psychotherapy I can offer you.

Can I help?

My name is Richard Nash and I am a registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist and psychodynamic counsellor. I am a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a registrant of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).

I can offer you a confidential, non-judgmental, safe and reliable place to talk openly and freely about what brings you to seek therapy at this time. Through us working together to gain a greater understanding of your thoughts, feelings and life experiences a real opportunity for meaningful change and personal growth can be opened up.

Some of the problems I may be able to help with:

There can be many reasons why people seek help. Unhappy relationships, bodily symptoms, troubled thoughts and behaviour can all be signs that we have tried to deal with problems by putting them out of our minds. Often events in our formative years influence our current feelings and choices. With a therapist’s help it is possible to understand these experiences and make sense of how they have arisen and continue to affect us.

These are some of the problems I may be able to help with:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety, stress, worry, panic attacks
  • Relationship problems
  • Anger
  • Bereavement
  • Redundancy
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Family members and friends of people with chemical dependency
  • Feelings of loneliness, isolation and emptiness
  • Lack of sense of self and purpose
  • Sexual problems
